Walking Your Way to Good Health
So have you ever thought about why God made us to stand upright? Hum, I know, maybe so we could walk, lol. No really walking is an excellent way to exercise. “It burns calories, strengthens back muscles and bones, lowers blood pressure, cuts cholesterol, and reduces stress and the risk of heart disease and diabetes.” Whew no that is a lot for something that is absolutely free and just about everybody can walk. So why not start walking today. But now you say well how long and how far should I walk? Some research adopted from Japan suggests walking 10,000 steps per day will help you lose weight and become healthy. Ten thousand steps per day is equivalent to 5 miles. Remember Jarred from Subway’s that is how he lost weight. Walking is also easy on the joints and good for the heart, not to mention it is relaxing way to relieve stress.
So I recommend if you want to start tracking how much you walk in a day, invest in a pedometer. Curves the gym has a talking pedometer for only $12.99.
